Nicholas Miller is a Brooklyn-based multimedia artist, composer, improviser, and guitarist. Their work is informed by the Black American improvised music tradition, the cultural and ecological histories of the American West, critical and contemplative engagements with mysticism and religion, and the artistic lineages of the avant-garde and performance art. They have performed internationally at venues including the Sundance Film Festival and Westminster Palace and have appeared on concert billings with electronic duo Matmos and composer/performer Elaine Mitchener. They have also collaborated with artists including the Castalian Quartet, country singer Melissa Carper, Grammy-winning operatic tenor Thomas Glenn, and Grammy-winning jazz drummer Danny Gottlieb. They hold degrees from the University of Oxford, Utah State University, and the University of Denver.
